Wild & Domestic Horse Work
Photographs from the world around me:
Home Herd Far southwest Tex. Domestic & Wild horses
Wild Horses -The Vanishing Breed The American Mustang -Summer 2010. 7000ft in the mountains of New Mexico
(Monero Mustang Sanctuary and the Placitas wild horses are featured in this gallery)
Photographing wild horses ( and those in need) is a passion of mine and one that is important to document.
It often seems I cannot click fast or breath deep enough to absorb and share their beauty and surroundings.
With the smell of sage all around me I said hello, goodbye, and thought of the ones before that roamed this land and graced my lens with their beauty.
As I photographed many of these horses this summer (Summer 2010) I knew it was the last truly free summer some would have.
I always say I am photographing "ghosts" or the spirit of the wild horse as it is only their spirit that remains free and wild in their home.
Thank you for taking a moment to view these, some of these horses are living a free and wonderful life or are protected in one form or another, but
many others in this gallery and http://rachaelwallerphotography.smugmug.com/Animals/The-Vanishing-Wild-Horse/8418497_5hVJm#189400833_8zqzz
Are gone like dust, vanishing with every click of my camera.
Also included in this gallery are moments of the herd I dwell with here at my ranchita in far West Texas.
Blessings to you and all the wild ones that still live in freedom,
~Rachael
