From Chey's Mom- Rachael
"Taking my daughter along in search of wild horses will live with me forever. For many years I have photographed horses in need and my baby was at my hip in some form or another. From sitting upon great mounts like Floriano the Olympic medalist to a blind pony who she owns -loves and adores (featured horse in RIders On The Storm), to helping me birth an auction mama's baby, she was there with a towel and love, always.
To bring my only child on a real wild horse adventure was years in the making. I needed to make sure she could handle being in the midst of a stallion fight or a run away band of wild horses. Something like this I don't take lightly. I needed to be sure absolutely SURE she could handle it if all hell broke loose. Not only did she handle it, she captured it like a pro.
She stood brave and tall, eye in the lens capturing a stallion fight, she watched wild bands of horses run into the sunset with a "wow" upon her face. She picked sage amongst some of my favorite stallions, she was one with them, she met a donkey named "Bob" at the Monero Sanctuary who she fell in love with. She smiled, with wind in her hair, Upon seeing wild horses truly free for the first time in her life.
I am grateful to my dear fellow photographers (Esp her Godmother Lynne Pomeranz) for allowing this little girl to share our world and a world that everyone should see... I am honored she was able to come on this journey and hope when she is an adult she won't say "Remember when their were wild horses Mommy? So thank you for viewing my daughters adventure this was a moment in time I will never forget. Peace to all who still run free ....."
We will add more and I am sure she has some thoughts to add when she is back from school. But for now, enjoy these images through the eyes of an 8 year old little girl who loves horses with all of her heart and is a strong little Indian girl who I am honored to raise.
Here are a few of her shots, we will be adding more later as she finishes them.
If you would like to buy an 8 x 10 they are $20.00 (which is Chey's price)to do so you can email me: Rachael@Indianstunts.com
Otherwise my standard rescue prices will apply through smugmug.
She is donating all proceeds to wild horses in need. Stay tuned T shirts coming.

Here are some kind words from folks who know her well:
Cheyenne might be 8 1/2 yrs. old in this reality, however, she is clearly an old and evolved soul. She's as talented as she is pretty. Just like her mom, her passion for horses and her creativity just shine through her photographs. Cheyenne...I think you nailed that Placitas stallion shot better than any of us. You go girl!! Love ya, Lynne (Lynne Pomeranz - author of Among Wild Horses).
I have known Cheyenne, as a friend, a horse lover, and fellow photographer. To say she is an "old soul", is putting it mildly. Cheyenne holds generatioins of horse spirit, inside of her eight year old body. She not only sees things differendly she feels things differently. One of my favorite stories about Chey is very telling about her authentic character. For a time in my life, I worked at a tack store. All things Horse..saddles, bridles, toys and trinkets. Part of the store's charm was that we always had "little" plastic horses. Cost about a quarter, the little kids loved them..it was something they could buy, with their "own" money. Very serious in her approach, Chey would begin her ritual of choosing her herd. One by one, she would take the little plastic horses out..Most kids would grab a handful, never really looking. Oh, no, not our Chey. She would line them all up. Assess their particular assets..color, pose, size. Unfailingly, she would choose a crooked one, one that had trouble standing, or a little pony that was just the wrong color..had an ear missing. Those would be the ponies that went home with Chey. She was 5. She ended up with quite a little herd, over the years. Seeing value in a differnt way. That is what makes Chey the unique person she is. Wise beyond her years, calling upon wisdom inherited, passed down, as instinctual to Chey, as the mustang's ability to find water. Chey just knows. Always has. A pleasure to see Chey make inroads into the mustang culture, our champion for the next generation. Cheyenne Sky. She sees the light, and the light loves her back. What an extrodinary opportunity we have to help Chey donating the proceeds of these photos to Lifesavers, a mustang rescue. I encourage you to participate at the beginning of this legacy, a rare opportunity, indeed." Patti Martin (Photographer and Horse lover).
Cheyenne Skye... Now, theres a name that leaves an impression! I am proud to say I have known Chey for most of her life. She is a VERY intelligent and determined child, with a strong opinon and knows right from WRONG! ( her parents have done well)... Don't ask her about the wild horses and the horrible events that have been happening to them, unless you are prepaired to sit down and listen to a heated lecture! She knows first hand as an activist, as to the raw and ugly truth of whats really happening to our majestic wild beauties. Cheyenne can hold her head high with knowledge and love in her heart, and state she has done and is doing her part to fight and be the voice of wild horse herds that can't speak for themselves. May the wild horse always run free and Cheyenne's spirit stay as bold.- Kary Lepre Lepre Farms CA
